“Naaman’s servants went to him and said, ‘My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’!’” 2 Kings 5:13

Have you ever wondered why we often find it easier to do the complicated rather than believe the simple? Let me explain - Jesus offers the world Salvation which is totally free - free for us, though He paid for it with His precious sinless life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news that anyone who believes in His finished work on the cross (His death, burial and resurrection on our behalf) and repents, will be cleansed of all their sins, be freed from the bondage to sin and receive the abundant life that Jesus offers – one that goes on into eternity. Yet sadly, most people are unwilling to accept this great gift because the means to receive it seems too simple.

Naaman was washed and cleansed only because he gave heed to the wise counsel of his servants. Just imagine if he did not believe and obey this simple instruction from Elisha to wash in the river Jordan. He probably would have gone down in history as a man who was never cleansed of his leprosy.

Many people are in bondage to sin only because they are not willing to simply believe this life-transforming message. Let’s use every opportunity to share this wonderful news with those around us. So let’s…

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31
